Entrepreneurship Summit 2019

Introduction and Welcome Dance: There was an inaugural dance performed traditionally by Sathwika of B.E ¼ who welcomed the guests on to the dais. The inaugural session was addressed by our President Mr. P Ramamohan Rao Garu, Principal S.V.Ramana Garu, E-Cell Incharge Mr. T Ramamohan Rao Garu and our beloved E-Cell co-ordinator Mr. K.I.Supergon Sir whose presence on the stage boosted our morale. Chief Guest, Dr. JP: The session continued with an enlivening talk from our Chief Guest Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan Garu, an Indian politician, physician and former IAS Officer. He threw light upon industrial revolution and the various phases that eventually paved the way for the marvelous technological advancements like 3D printing and Artificial Intelligence. Also, he touched upon the numerous opportunities that the future holds and that the youth should utilize those to solve societal problems along with tackling the dramatic transformation that the generation of today face. Cholleti Prabhakar Garu, Retd. IAS: Mr. Cholleti Prabhakar garu also gave his inputs on how important the competitive pulse is to become a good entrepreneur. He gave strong inputs on how we can change the world through our efforts. He also engaged the listeners with his energetic speech. He later added the importance of entrepreneurs in India as they are very much needed right now. Keynote Speech 1: Mr. Arjun Rao is the CEO of Valuelabs. He was the first entrepreneur of the day to speak on the Dias. He spoke for about 30 minutes which included various facts. He also added, "If what you are thinking, what you are doing and what you are doing is in sync, money will pour down like water”. The event continued further with Mr. Arjun Rao, stressing on the importance of clarity of thought, strong faith in the team, desire and values in achieving your start-up goals. He stressed that more than money, building trust and standing by the truth at all times is what will drive you to success eventually. At the end there were questions on imitative entrepreneurs as asked by a participant. Keynote Speech 2: Mr. Sricharan Lakkaraju is the CEO of Stumagz. He initiated the speech by asking the participants to ask him questions. The participants have asked questions to Mr. Sricharan, where he answered many of them. He focused on the significance of being humble in spite of the success you have seen in life. He also educated entrepreneurial enthusiasts that they should know who will buy whom so as to know whom to approach with a business idea. He carried on sharing his experience with marketing and how he sold the products for free in one college and told the other on the excellent sales in the first to grab new customers. He concluded by telling the audience to not agonize over the society, but instead believe in their own dreams to prosper. Keynote Speech 3: Ms. Vaishali Neotia is the CEO and Cofounder of Merxius. The company works on Extended Reality and provides solutions to numerous companies and clients around the world. She spoke on various things about being a Woman Entrepreneur. She shared all about being a woman entrepreneur in the present society. After that, she asked for a show of hands for the following questions, Are you doing it for yourselves? How many of you are in touch with your seniors? What about the other events, do you like to attend them? Although she observed a variety of hands shown, she did not wonder much, it was because she knew the outcome, which was no or a less show of hands in each case. She wanted to convey that all the above stuff is really important and that we do it. What’s most important before a Start-Up? Asked, Ms Neotia. There were a lot of answers, a guy said, Courage, team, said another girl. But finally, it was ‘Research’ which was the most important of all before starting up. She has also later added that Merxius has won the Boeing HorizonX India Innovation challenge and received investment from Boeing. She also emphasized that building resources and planning ahead are vital for a start-up to sustain without which almost 95% of start-ups shut down in three years of their initial stage. She also educated the students that it is important to keep your customers in mind, implying which their company developed merxius software which can be used by anyone even if they have no knowledge on technology. She ended it beautifully by telling the audience to have a vision and keep going as one never knows when success knocks their door. Ms Neotia also gave many examples like, Henry Ford, “who identified the need for automobiles as a faster means of transport. There was a Q&A session at the end, where the audience asked questions to which Ms Neotia answered. At the end of the day; don’t be afraid to stand up or stand down”, said Ms Neotia. D.I.S.R.U.P.T : An idea generation game After a mind-boggling speech by Vaishali Neotia, this D.I.S.R.U.P.T session was conducted. This is an idea generation game. The mnemonic was later explained in detail, which was D- Derive, I-Include, S-Separate, R-Repurpose, U-Unite, P-personalize, and T-Transplant, a tactic that helps create new ideas, market and value network. Later, there was an interactive session among the participants, where they were asked to sell products in their own way to one another. The participants have actively taken part and enjoyed the session as it involved creative thinking. Panel Discussion 1: Later, a panel discussion also took place on the topic “Don’t think the idea rather use the idea” by Mr. Nikhil Gurrala, CEO of Pobyt and Mr. Nikhil Gunda, CEO of Digidine who discussed their approach towards implementing their ideas and the hardships they faced. Keynote Speech 4: Mr. Sahith Gummadi is the Team Founding member, ZAGG PROTOCOL. He conveyed various things about being a founding team member at Zagg Protocol, which works on privacy-preserving protocol on an account based on blockchain technology. Here ended the first day of the Summit.
