Recruitments 2019-2020





The process of recruitment was conducted in 2 phases


1 – Re interviews for the existing members The existing people in Swayam were asked to fill a google form and attend an interview where they were asked about their previous contributions to swayam and a few other questions relating to them. That was about phase 1. The people were now removed those who have not filled the form nor attended the interview. The count is now reduced by 8 numbers.

2 – The actual recruitment process Here, we started with another google form where we received a staggering number of about 150 applicants. There were 3 stages:

1. GD/Picturesque 2. Personal Interview 3. Allocation of departments to the members




1 - In the picturesque, people were asked to guess the word which was in the play which was just like dumb charades while few people participated in Group Discussion on various topics.

2 - After that there was a personal interview where the applicants were asked questions on different aspects: . How much time were they willing to dedicate? . Naming few entrepreneurs they knew. . What were their interests? . What was entrepreneurship to them? These are some to name a few Later, all the people were added into the main Swayam group which now is 100 participants as of today (16th September)

3 - Further, allocation of departments to the newly joined members and the existing members was done in this way: First, all the members were made to sit in an orderly fashion and then each participant was asked to say numbers starting from one. For example, if the first participant says number one, then the next person should be number two and so on and this process was repeated after number seven. So on whole, the whole participants were divided into seven teams. The number they told during the drill is their team. All the participants were asked to stand in groups according to their numbers. A person from the group was asked to pick a topic from the randomly distributed papers in which the topics were written. Now that the groups had got their topics, the groups people were asked to create a company depending on the topic and since each group has 7 to 8 participants, each participant takes a department in the company like finance, marketing, documenting, logistics etc. They were given 5 minutes to prepare for their presentation about their company and what every participant would do to the company under their respective department. Each group was given 7 minutes to present about their company. After each presentation, the participants were asked some further questions about their departments and their willingness to work in other departments. And finally depending on their ideas about their respective departments and their answers the questions, the participants were given the departments that they would fit in.

Now that the departments were allocated to all the members, Swayam 2019-2020 is fully functional! Cheers to all the members!
